Hi all,

Love the tutorials that KAG has put together. Things have come together great with GSAK and my garmin over the past few weeks. Can't wait for the changing symbols tutorial.. I just don't like symbol for the puzzle with child waypoints.. It's a black symbol and when you're not quite zoomed out its awful hard to see properly. Does anyone know how to setup the default color scheme by any chance? I haven't been able to locate literature containing how to do that.

My issue at hand: I don't know why, but after performing a query of my found caches, whenever i bring them into GSAK, i seem to lose on my totals. Right now, i see the GSAK total differ from the geocaching.com total. I have noted a few of the previously found caches have gone unavailable. Is this a potential issue? If so, how can I manage my built database better to neglect changes for newly imported queries?

thank you kindly,

Thanks for the reminder; I forgot that I never did get around to doing that part of the tutorial. It will be the next one I work on. In the meantime, are you referring to the black puzzle piece icon? That is one chosen for a child waypoint that is "Question to Answer". Do you already have an icon that you'd rather use for that kind of child waypoint? I can try and show you how to change that to another one. It does entail a little bit of editing of the macro, but it really isn't that difficult.

I am not sure that I understand the issue you are describing. Can you give me a little more detail on how you are trying to set up your database(s). Are you keeping a separate database for Found caches and for caches yet to find? (That is what I do. Actually, I have LOTS of different databases which can get awfully confusing at times, so don't go overboard!) When do you seem to 'lose' caches? When you load a new pocket query in? There are some settings on the "Load" screen that affect which caches are loaded or not, so we might have to walk through a couple of them.

If you can give me more of a step by step idea of what you are doing, and then what happens, I might be able to try and help you a little more.

Cheers,

Thanks for the quick reply SG, didn't see this reply as I was reading the GC thread. I'll give you more details regarding what's happening later on this evening. Thanks again.

Figured it out the other night... What was happening was the arch'ed caches were not being sent in the "Found" query that I've been building. So.. It was coming up short. I've had to manually download the arch'ed gpx files and enter them into the database.

going good now though!

if you run the "My Finds Pocket Query" at the very bottom of the list of queries, itll catch all archived caches as well, it goes over 500 caches too. The only downfall is that it can only be run once every 7 days, but it is a great tool for GSAK users
