Cut and paste html

Postby hamburking » Thu May 14, 2009 2:05 pm

I hope this isn't a silly request, but in the resources section, could there be the html code to put the KAG logo/link onto a cache page?

This is the code I use:

<center>
<a href="http://kingstongeocaching.com"><img src="http://home.cogeco.ca/~rconnell/images/KAG_small.gif"
border="0" /></a></center>

It's easy enough to cut and paste it onto the cache page. But finding this code each time I post a new cache is a chore I could do without.

I had written an article on how to do just that. One can find it here. Your suggestion did get me thinking: I should put a copy of that article in the resources section so it is easier to find. As it was an early article, it has gotten buried.

You also reminded me that the image is being linked from my Cogeco web account. That is fine, until I get fed up with Cogeco and move to another ISP. I will also put that logo on this site, and update the code accordingly. The Cogeco link will work for as long as I stay with them!

Thanks for the suggestion!

New post added to Resources--Tips and Tricks which outlines how to add the logo to a cache page or user profile.

I have also updated the code to fetch the logo off of this server, but the Cogeco one will still work.

[code:1]<center>
<a href="http://kingstongeocaching.com" target="_blank">
<img src="http://kingstongeocaching.com/kag_small.gif"
border="0" width="163" height="163">
</a>
</center>[/code:1]
