So, you are now a Geocacher armed with a GPS and are ready to start caching. But wait, you need some swag but where to get it?
Most cachers will hit the Dollar Stores or look around the house for unused items that are longer needed.
But, there are better places if you are willing to look around and do a little rumaging, and here are a few examples.
Endless possibilities are found in this store from Hair Clips, Key Rings, Playing Cards, Tools, etc. The stock in this store is always changing and sometimes they goof on prices and you can get steal of deal sometimes. I picked up close to 20 Fox40 whistles for a buck each and they will also have "Fill A Bag" deal and 1/2 price sales from time to time.
All CT stores have a discount area and if you dig a little you will be surprised at what can be found.
I have found a bargin box of stuff at certain times of the year and have picked up cool keyrings for a buck.
Just inside the store is a bargin table heaped with stuff, you just have to dig a little to find nik naks that will appeal to Geocachers.
Don't laugh, my local store bought out the remaining stock for a closed store and I scooped a couple of bins of caribiners cheap.
You should also keep an eye out when stores close up shop and drop prices drastically as there may be a bucket of neat stuff that some people won't touch. My brother "Ducky" scooped a Bus Boy bin with over 900 bottle openers in it and made a $10 deal for the lot and got it, the bin was easily worth $30.
So, in closing just get out there and dig a little, you never know what you will find and if you go to a Habitat Re-Store or a store that is closing it doesn't hurt to "Make a Deal" on a large quantity of some item that one day could be you signature item.
