Greasemonkey is an addon for the Firefox web browser that can customized the way a web page looks using Javascript. Some creative cachers have written some Greasemonkey scripts for a variety of Geocaching.com web pages, that add some useful features to the page. This tutorial will highlight how Greasemonkey works, and why you might want to take a look at it. At the bottom of this page, there is a video highlighting showing these Greasemonkey scripts at work.
In order to use Greasemonkey, you will first need to download and install Firefox. Firefox is an excellent web browser and is completely free. Even without Greasemonkey, you will enjoy using Firefox. You can download it from here.
After installing Firefox, you can install the latest version of Greasemonkey here . Installing addons with Firefox is easy, and Greasemonkey is no exception.
Finally, you will need to add the various Geocaching Greasemonkey scripts that you want to use. Here are some of the ones that I particularly like:
